My friend built an entire backyard office out of pallets, so when I saw this DIY Thirty Dollar Outdoor Bench on Youtube I had to tell him right away! He said get over here and we will make this because he was really wanting to add some seating in his garden this year, but he wanted to do something quick because his nieces and nephews were coming over and he wanted to teach them about gardening. So he had plenty of wood, I was in charge of the refreshments and craft stain we needed for the project. When I got over to my friend’s house he had all the tools laid out. A power Drill, a Circular Saw, Wood Drill Bits, Measuring Tape, a Speed Square, a pencil, Sandpaper, and Safety Glasses. The best part about using old wood is the fact that it is usually free, you can find it by asking your local hardware store if they have spares laying around they are usually happy to accommodate.
This bench is one of the easiest DIY furniture tutorials I’ve ever come across. It looks so good in my friend’s garden, it has a bit of a mid-century modern look which we both loved.
