Measure the largest part of your lampshade.
Lay your fabric on a flat surface and cut based on the measurement of the lamp. If you are working with a narrow piece of fabric, you don’t have to worry about trimming the top yet but if you have a larger piece, you can trim it to whatever size you want so it’s easier to work with. Just make sure that you don’t cut it too short.
Lay your cut fabric on a flat surface again, with the sequin side down. Wear gloves and spray across the bottom of the fabric. Start on the seam of the lampshade. Set the bottom at the end part of the fabric and press it down. Roll it and make sure the bottom edge is straight with the fabric. Smoothen the fabric and make sure there are no bumps.
Trim off the excess on the seams. Spray paint on the lampshade and press the fabric to close. Try to match them up as much as you can. Trim the excess on the top as close to the lampshade. Spray the very edge of the fabric, then pull and wrap it around the inside of the lampshade frame. Do the same on the bottom. Let the glue dry for 24 hours before using the lamp. This will make sure that it’s safe to use and no longer flammable.
