This DIY scarecrow flower pot by Jenny W. Chan – Origami Tree on YouTube shows how simple it is to work on an easy Fall craft. Scarecrows are cute and super festive. I love how creative this DIY is and the flowers are made out of construction paper. Paper crafts are so fun to watch, and this isn’t hard to do at all. This would be a great DIY to do with your children too. It’s a quick DIY that can be done under 15 minutes. You can make a couple of these and place them around the house for indoor or outdoor decor.

Materials:

  • Terracotta flower pots
  • raffia straws
  • construction paper
  • hot glue gun
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • Styrofoam ball
  • self adherent wrap tape
  • black sharpie
  • rope
  • spray paint

Directions:

First, start off by spray painting the terracotta flower pots. Then, create the flowers out of construction paper by drawing a circle and cutting out a spiral shape using scissors. Continue to watch Jenny W. Chan- Origami Tree tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Next, take the self adherent wrap tape and hot glue gun it on one of the flower pots to create the scarecrow’s face. Draw the face on with a black sharpie. Then, hot glue gun the ropes to make the arms and leg.

The tutorial is straightforward and it’s an inexpensive project to work on. Most of the materials needed can be bought at Dollar Tree too.  The scarecrow is so small yet cute and I think it would be super fun to try out at home. This is a great way to save money if you’re on a budget for Fall decor or need a Fall craft project to work on.

I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
