EasyToSew is amazing when it comes to simple and detailed instructions for sewing tutorials. This DIY reversible shoulder bag tutorial is amazing because she gives the measurements at the beginning of the video. Many tutorials are hard to follow along with and there are always instructions on screen too, but she’s so talented. This is simple and there are no difficult techniques needed to make this bag. I love how this bag doesn’t require a zipper either. It’s definitely a light bag to carry around. I have the same style bag like this, except there’s a button to close at the top. I think it’s a good idea to add a little loophole for a button so nothing falls out. However, another option would be adding a snap button to keep the top enclosed.

Materials:

  • canvas outer fabric
  • Tencel medium lining fabric
  • iron
  • sewing machine
  • fabric pins

Directions:

First, you’ll need 2 outer bags and lining bag panels to make this reversible shoulder bag. Then, pin both outer bag panels with right side together, and stitch the two pinned sides with a sewing machine.

In conclusion, this is a perfect bag if I want to throw something light in. This type of bag can be used for anything whether it’s for groceries or light stroll to a friend’s house.  I used to be obsessed with fabric shoulder bags that drapes down by my knee. I’m not much of a bag person, but this is a great purse especially to make for kids too. Also, it’s an easy bag to care for in case it gets dirty too.
