This DIY bag is not as hard as you think. The instructions are very easy to follow. The best thing about this bag is that you can easily slide your bottle inside and get it whenever you are thirsty. If you find the handle small, make a long adjustable strap so you can change the length to your preferred length anytime. Watch the video below for full instructions.

How to Make a Bottle Holder Bag

Step 1:

Get C, K, and O. Mark the center on the top long side of O, then mark 2″ away on both sides. From the center, measure 1 1/4″ down, then rotate the ruler horizontally on that mark and mark the ends.

Measure 1 1/4″ from the bottom center and mark. Measure 2″ on both sides and mark.

Connect the points in a curved line just like in the photo below. Measure the curved line. It should be 10 3/4″. Cut it out.

Place the C and K right sides together (with C on top), then place the cut fusible on top. Press with an iron. Cut the excess fabrics leaving 1/4″ seam allowance.

Sew C with fusible on a crisscross pattern. These curved shapes will be the bottom piece.

Step 2:

Get B and place N on the wrong side centered. Next, get A and place M on the wrong side centered. Press with an iron. Flip them over and sew on a crisscross pattern.

Step 3:

Get D, G, L, and P. Place each P on the wrong side of D and L. Make sure they are centered. Press with an iron. Place them on top of the two G rectangles right sides together. Sew them on the top edge of the fusible, then open and fold on the right side. Top stitch on the folded edge.

Step 4:

Take I and E, then J and F. Place E on top of I, and F on top of J right sides together. Sew on the edge with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press seams open.

Step 5:

Place the small piece from step 3 on top of the long piece from step 2 with the bottom aligned. Let’s call this unit A. Do the same with the small piece from step 3 and the long piece from step 4. Let’s call this unit B. Make sure they are the same fabrics. Sew on the sides and bottom of the small pieces.

Step 6:

Sew the long sides of unit A on the short sides of the big piece from step 2. Next, sew the bottom piece C with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Flip it right side out.

Step 7:

Sew the ends of the strap on both sides.

Step 8:

Sew the long sides of unit B on the short sides of the big piece from step 4 with a 1/4″ seam allowance, making sure to leave an opening on one side. Sew the bottom piece K with a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Step 9:

Insert the front of the bag inside the lining, then sew on the top edge with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Flip it right side out through the opening. Close the opening.

Step 10:

Top stitch the top edge.
