Here’s a fun project for you to try over the weekend. Leira can do it! on YouTube demonstrates how to turn your old tires into this adorable teacup planter for your garden. It sure is worth all the effort, the procedures were simple and straightforward, and the finished product was eye-catching.

Materials:

  • Electric saw drill
  • Tire cutting knives
  • Drill
  • Grinder
  • Screws
  • Spray paint, white and pink
  • Marker Pen
  • Scissors
  • Duct tape
  • Garbage bag

Directions:

Step 1

Grab a large tire and remove one sidewall while the other remains intact, then grab a smaller tire and place it underneath the larger one. Attach the tires together by drilling screws around the bottom sidewall straight to the upper sidewall of the small tire. Grab another small tire and remove both of its sidewalls, then take 1 side wall and attach it at the side using screws and form its shape into a teacup handle. Cut the excess pointed edges of the screw with a grinder. Cut a garbage bag open, spread, and lay it on your working area, place the tire teacup on top of the garbage bag to catch excess paint. Then, start spraying the exterior with white. Leave it to dry while you prepare your round stencils.

Step 2

Draw even circles with a 3-inch radius on plastic sheets, then place duct tapes at the back covering the circle, then cut out these circle shapes, and remove the plastic from the tape gently. Stick the tape onto random areas of the teacup’s body, then proceed to spray paint all over it with pink, remove the tapes, then hand paint, and add another layer of white to the polka dots. Paint the other sidewall in white and use this as the saucer of the cup, add garden soil inside, then transfer and place your flowers.
