Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s time to get creative! MaMi ART has come up with an adorable DIY paper towel roll Christmas tree that you can make to celebrate the holiday. You can place it on your work desk, center table, or even hang it. I absolutely love how it turned out, and it doesn’t even look like it’s made from recycled materials. It’s easy to make and inexpensive, making it the perfect Christmas project for you.

This is one of my favorite projects as I love upcycling things! As the title suggests, the tree is made using paper towels. If you don’t have any, you can use toilet paper towels. It is a great way to repurpose these items, instead of throwing them right into the trash. You can also use your old tinsels and papers. This way, you can reduce your waste and also practice your creative skills.

Start by getting a sheet of paper and a ruler. Place one end of the ruler on one corner of the paper (parallel to the short side) and mark the other end. Slowly change the angle of the ruler and mark the other end every movement until you reach the long side. Trace the marks to make a quarter circle, and cut it out.
Make the quarter circle into a cone and glue the ends.
Get the paper towel rolls and mark every 0.6 inch from one end to another on one side. Repeat on the other side, then connect them to make horizontal lines. Cut each segment, then fold them in half to make creases. Add glue on 1/4 of the segment, and stick it to the end of the cone just like in the photo below. Repeat until you fill it all the way around up until the top. Make sure to add a little bit of space between layers.
Spray paint everything with gold.
Cover a tape roll with brown fabric and glue it to the bottom of the tree.
Wrap the green tinsel on the space between each layer and glue them in place.
Glue the star on top and the mini christmas balls.
