I love succulents of all kinds, the classic cactus is bay far my very favorite. I have so many real ones, but I also love faux cacti so when I saw this DIY faux cactus idea on Youtube I knew I had to get started on it right away. I already had had all the crafting materials in my craft cabinet and I had some beautiful river rocks that I collected on the banks of the Pedernales River last Summer that I had still laying on my porch not being put t any decorative use, so this in itself was a beautiful resource waiting to be tapped. I started this DIY Pebble Cactus faux plant project by gathering my materials together:
Materials:
- Some Acrylic Craft Paint (dark green, light green, yellow, white, and black)
- 3 Paint Brushes
- Smooth Pebbles
- A Pot
- Sand
- A Paper Plate (for paint mixing)
You start by cleaning your pebbles and the mix some paint on your paper plate, just paint the entire surface of the rock in dark green then paint some thin lines in light green and white, then make cactus thorns along your white line.
Then you can use your imagination here by experimenting with different patterns and colors for your cacti. Like with all DIY there is no right or wrong way, this is your project and you can have it any way you want.
Then you are ready to arrange the cati in your pot with sand.
These DIY Pebble Cacti Plants are so gorgeous I put them all over my porch and they look so fabulous, I get so many compliments on them.
