I finished my mine with a dark walnut stain and sanded the edges down for a gorgeous, rustic look.
This great ladder adds height to the room, bringing the eye up, and holds 3-4 blankets perfectly without taking up a ton of space. Don’t you just love fun space-saving solutions like this?
Recently I was at a client’s home (she’s using me as her Realtor to list it), and she asked what she could put on the side of her fireplace. There’s an empty spot that could use something taller, and she already had a floor plant in a nearby corner. I suggested a ladder to hang throw blankets on – they add a nice homey look and had the height she needed.
I had a similar situation in my bedroom by my dresser…there was a little spot that needed a little something. That’s when the wheels started spinning to try and fill that space with something else, so it hit me what I had told my client, so I took my own advice and I googled and found the Pottery Barn one right away… $250 though?! That wasn’t gonna happen, so I did what I always do..I looked for a great DIY ladder, and that’s when I found this one, and I had to make the cool blanket too!
