As a Realtor, I’ve gone into some modern high rises and I’m seeing a lot of furniture and shelving made utilizing these fabulous metal pipes! It gives the interiors an urban look, which has become really popular everywhere. People love it because you can mix it with modern styles, giving it a rustic flavor that adds a lot of character to your rooms, always making for an interesting conversation piece. Pipe is an inexpensive DIY material to use when creating any style with an industrial flair. In fact, you can make all kinds of interesting home decor with just pipes and wood! I think my next project is to make a coffee table using these pipes and fittings. I can’t wait to see the end result! My place is a mix of eclectic, modern, with a touch of bohemian. Art is my big love and this style goes so well with the art I’ve collected. There are all kinds of possibilities now that I’ve discovered pipes and fittings!
For this specific project you’ll need (4) 1/2″ floor flanges, (2) 1/2″ tee fittings, (2) 1/2″ 90 deg elbow fittings, (2) 1/2″ 2-1/2 connectors, (4) 1/2″ close connectors, (1) 1/2″ 24″ pipe, 1/8″ drill bit, (8) 10 x 3/4″ stainless screws.
