Prices for just about everything are rising around the united states, especially anything home-related. I have been relying on DIY home projects to save as much money as possible on the things I can create on my own. This DIY by Kim’s creative is just the project I needed for my garden. It’s the best way to have cute garden stepping stones without breaking the bank. They are completely customizable, and you can use household objects and leftover paints to embellish your stepping stones.

Materials Needed For This DIY:

  • Sheet Pans With Lids
  • Paint
  • Tile, Stone, And Grout Sealer
  • Polyurethane
  • Mortar
  • Chicken Wire
  • Cooking Spray
  • Tiles
  • Leaves

Directions:

Step One

Start by mixing your mortar. You can pour a bag or two at a time and start mixing it with water. Be sure to wear gloves because mortar can burn your hands.

Step Three

Fill the sheet pans with mortar. You will want to add one layer of mortar, then some chicken wire, then more on top of the chicken wire.

Step Four

Allow the mortar to dry in the pans for a day and a half, then remove the stones you’ve made from your pans.

Step Five

Paint the stones however you would like, then cover them in a sealer and polyurethane and let them dry again. You can water the paint down to allow it to soak into the stones more.

Step Six

Finally, once your stones are dry, you can place them into your garden.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
