I had recently redone my fireplace and had a lot of leftover ties. The tiles I had selected for my fireplace were really expensive ornate tiles from Italy, so I really wanted to find some other projects where I could use the leftover tiles. I went searching on Youtube and found this brilliant small box planter project that was ingeniously made from five tiles just very simply put together. I had recently gotten some succulent plants for my birthday, so I knew right away I had found my match made in Heaven. The five tile planter project was so easy, just one look and I could see that this nifty little idea was almost going to make itself. The really awesome aspect of this DIY five tile planter idea was the fact that I could put them on the fireplace mantle and they would match the background perfectly, making a really cool look!

Materials:

  • 5 Tiles (per planter)
  • Gorilla Glue
  • A Glass of Water
  • Painter’s Tape (or Masking Tape)

Directions:

First, you carefully run a bare finger dipped in a little water over the edges of your tiles then fit the tiles together with Gorilla Glue adhesive.

Make a planter out of 5 leftover tiles

Then when you have successfully glued all sides together, you secure the entire five tile planter together with tape then let dry completely for at least twenty four hours.

Upcycle 5 tiles into a planter

This planter lived up to all my hopes and dreams and it was so easy to make! This is one of the neatest projects I have ever made.
