How to Make Fabric Dress Bookmark

Step 1:

Start by cutting your pattern on a piece of paper. Trace the pattern on your outer fabric twice adding a 1/4″ seam allowance, then cut. Next, cut two pieces of interfacing the same size as the outer dress.

Step 2:

Place one interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric dress, then pin them together. Repeat with the other dress and interfacing. Press flat with an iron.

Step 3:

Cut the lace the same size as the bottom part of the dress. Glue it on the bottom part of the dress, then glue the ribbon on the middle. See the photo below for reference.

Step 4:

The elastic should be big enough for your book. Sew the ends together. Pin it on the middle of the dress just like in the photo below, then place the other piece on top, right sides together. Sew all the way around with a 1/4″ seam allowance, leaving a 2″ opening.
