Cut a 4 1/2″ square on each corner of the denim with fusible. Do the same for the lining with fusible.
Get the denim fabric for the handle and place it right side down. Place the fusible interfacing on top and iron in place. Fold it in half lengthwise wrong sides together to make a crease. Open and fold each long side towards the center. Next, fold them together and sew on the edge.
Place your cross denim fabric right side up. Measure 1 1/2″ from the top edge and draw a straight line. Place the handle and sew on the sides.
Place the cross lining fabric on top of the cross denim fabric, right sides together. Sew on the sides with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Do not sew on the box corners. Open the seam allowances and sew them together to close the corners and create a box. Make sure to leave an opening.
Flip the box right side out. Close the opening by hand stitching. Press the sides with an iron to flatten. Sew all the way around the edges with a 1/4″ seam allowance.
