I have always loved the brightly colored Mexican folk art and these have the real WOW factor! They are so easy to make…you can just copy the design and paint inside the lines, just like you would if you were coloring it! So you don’t need to be intimidated by it!

Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday where celebrants remember family and friends who have died. Mexican Sugar Skull says, and I quote: “Day of the Dead is an interesting holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico during the chilly days of November 1 & 2. Even though this coincides with the Catholic holiday called All Soul’s & All Saint’s Day, the indigenous people have combined this with their own ancient beliefs of honoring their deceased loved ones.

They believe that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31, and the spirits of all deceased children) are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On November 2, the spirits of the adults come down to enjoy the festivities that are prepared for them.”

I have all of my Mexican folk art in my den and I made some of these for the wall in there. I just love how stunning my den looks since I have added so many beautiful colors!
