Using sheets as curtains is a brilliant idea for several reasons. Sheets come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and fabrics, allowing you to match your new curtains perfectly to your existing decor. They’re also generally wider and longer than standard curtain panels, providing ample coverage and draping beautifully. Plus, many sheets are already hemmed, cutting down on the amount of sewing you’ll need to do!
In this guide, Dezinefun With Michelle will teach you the entire process, from selecting the right sheets to hanging your finished curtains. You’ll need a few basic supplies – most of which you probably already have – and a little bit of creativity. What are you waiting for? Spice up your living space with this quick and easy DIY curtain! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.
To start, find the large hem, then go to the very edge of either side. Cut a slit all the way, making the openings on both ends. Once done, take your curtain rod and slip it right on through the slits that you made on either end.
Make two sets of these twin sheets. Once done, press them nicely with an iron or a fabric steamer. (You can hang the curtains first if you will use a fabric steamer so it’s easier to go through with it.)
