Ingredients:

  • A salt and pepper shaker
  • Floral wire
  • Assorted buttons
  • A small piece of foam
  • Scrapbook paper or spray paint
  • Felt, different colors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Wirecutter and pliers
  • Paintbrush, pencil, marker, etc., for coiling
  • Scissors

Directions:

Step 1

Cut little flowers from different colors of felt fabric, then place each button you chose on top of each flower, and mark the buttonholes. Poke or cut those marks with a scissor to make it easier to sew the button on them. Attach the floral wire through each felt flower and into the button right on top of it, then twist the wire together at the back several times and as tight as possible until it is secured. Using a wire cutter, trim off the excess wire that you twisted. Cut out small circles from the felt, then attach each of them at the back to cover the twisted wire using hot glue.

Step 2

Next, prepare the flower vase or your salt shaker. You can spray paint, chalk paint the exterior of the salt shaker, mod podge scrapbook paper on the outside, or you can cut a piece of scrapbook paper, then insert and line the slat shaker with it. Use your finger to spread it out evenly, then cut a piece of foam that is roughly the same size as the salt shaker’s interior, and push it inside. Put the lid of the salt shaker back on, then you can start assembling your bouquet. You can trim some of the stems with wire cutters to set your flower at different heights or you can coil them by wrapping the stem around a pencil a few times.
