This paper craft is perfect for beginners. All of the steps are easy to follow, and it doesn’t require special tools or materials. You’ll only need book pages, scissors, sticky notes or colored paper, a skewer, double-sided tape, and hot glue. I love straightforward crafts like this that you can finish in just a few minutes.

The book pages I used for this project were the ones I cut from the book flower vase. If you haven’t checked out that project yet, make sure you do! It would be such a waste to throw the pages away, so I turned them into these beautiful paper flowers. I was originally saving them for the holiday season to make different paper ornaments, but I realized that book page flowers are the perfect match for my DIY vase. How to Turn Old Book Pages into Paper Flowers
Learn how to make paper flowers using old book pages with this step-by-step tutorial.
Cutting the book page
The page measures 9 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches. Cut it in half crosswise. Take one half and fold it in half lengthwise. Cut evenly spaced slits. Repeat with the other half.

Making the center of the flower
Take a regular yellow sticky note. It measures 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 in. Fold it in half, then cut evenly spaced, thin slits.

Making the stem
Take half of a bookpage and a skewer. Use the skewer to roll the book page. Glue the end to secure.

Taping
Open the cut book page, tape the bottom section, then fold the top part down.

Gluing the center of the flower
Glue the end of the yellow paper to the top part of the stem, wrap it around, then glue again to secure.

Gluing the petals
Repeat step 5 with the book pages.

Pressing down the petals
Gently press the book page petals down.
