Ok…is this not brilliant? I think it’s the coolest idea ever! I have seen DIY’s done this way on picture frames and they used white spray paint, but hadn’t seen a lamp using children’s action figures!

This is such a wonderful way to repurpose children’s toys and keep those memories alive. When your kids have outgrown their toys already, what’s left to do is either give it to others or throw them away, unless you are planning to have another one soon. But most of us have a habit of just keeping them because of its sentimental value which ends up to just being a clutter. When you just can’t let go of these toys especially your beloved action figures, might as well upcycle them to something more useful. This is a project that will surely be a new favorite.

We all love simple and cheap projects that deliver a big bang for the buck. That appears to be the case with this action figure turned desk lamp made out of some long neglected plastic action figures.  All you need is a cheap desk lamp, and some gold spray paint…and action figures, of course.

What you’ll need:

  • action figures or old toys
  • spray paint of your choice
  • x-acto knife for cleanup and trimming
  • fine grit sandpaper
  • E6000 glue
  • super glue of choice
  • painter’s tape
  • lamp (must be skinny and tall for best end results)

Watch how Bored Dodo does this in their step by step instructions so you can repurpose those old toys!
