This quilt is so impressive and it only takes 5 minutes to make each quilt block! I particularly love the colors she has used in this quilt. It’s so bright and crisp looking.
I believe we all have an affinity for quilts…they add a very sentimental touch to our homes and bring up a lot of nostalgia for me. This pertains especially if you come from a family that makes quilts. My mother has made so many quilts, I can’t begin to count. She has a tradition of making a quilt for every child and grandchild in the family and always stitches a message on it when she is finished. Then she adds the date she gave it to us. She has always made quilts for every baby born in the family too. I never had an interest in making quilts until just recently, after seeing a tutorial on how to make a beginner quilt. Now that the intimidation is gone, I can move on to a more difficult quilt with ease!
Most of us enjoy our Mother’s and Grandmother’s quilts because there are fabrics in them that were once an article of clothing they made us and it takes us down memory lane of that era. I believe that’s one of the main reasons I feel so much nostalgia when I look at the quilts my mother has made.
