Croissants are so delicious and they make a great foundation for a sandwich roll, but they can be somewhat limiting because of their size as to how much sandwich middle ingredients you can stuff in there. But that is not a problem anymore because I found this fantastic recipe that the whole family loves so much and that is a big loaf of bread made out of croissant dough! Let me tell you, the sandwiches you make with this fantastic bread are beyond the pale. Even ordinary toast and jam with your morning coffee is nothing short of spectacular with this exquisitely delicious croissant loaf. It’s not hard to make either but the measurements need to be precise so the measurements are given in gram quantities.

Ingredients:

Croissant Dough:

  • 168g Milk
  • 168g Water (milk and water are mixed and this will make 1 1/2 cup)
  • 600g Bread Flour
  • 62g Granulated Sugar
  • 10g Salt
  • 45g Butter
  • 12g Instant Yeast (that is one packet)
  • A Butter Block of (336g Unsalted Butter)

First, make your dough and cover with plastic and store in the refrigerator overnight.

Then place your block of butter in the freezer for 10 minutes then grate it.

Then place your grated butter between two sheets of wax paper and roll out with a rolling pin, making a square.

Then roll out your dough and fold around your butter, then roll out 3 more times letting the dough rest in between in the refrigerator.

Then cut your delicious buttery dough into sections and roll up each section and place them side by side in a loaf pan and bake.
