For the legs, make a slip knot, make a magic ring, and place six single crochets inside (6). Pull the yarn tail to close the starting stitch round. Go around the stitch while increasing every single crochet stitch; repeat six times (12). Continue increasing to make 18 stitches. Pull through the yarn tail and single crochet five more rounds (18). Stitch four single crochet, count back nine sets, and single crochet across.
Split the legs evenly into nine single crochet stitches. Single crochet in the next single crochet, decrease, repeat for three times. Trim a long yarn tail and pull it through to unfasten it from your crochet hook. Thread the excess yarn needle through the darning needle and stitch through every single stitch, making six single crochets. Pull it firmly through the center of the legs and tuck it inside the leg.
To stuff the crew, roll some poly-fil in it.Use marking pins to help stuff the poly-fil. Pick up the nine stitches left on the leg. Make nine single crochets across the row (9).Stuff in some ply-fil as you go using the making pin. Single crochet in the next single crochet, decrease, and repeat 3 times (9).
Trim a long yarn tail and pull it through to unfasten it from your crochet hook. Thread the excess yarn needle through the darning needle and stitch through every single stitch, making six single crochets. Thread the excess yarn onto the crew’s body and trim.
For the small opening in between the center of the legs, thread the yarn through the darning needle and stitch across the open area. Poke the excess yarn tail through the crew’s body and trim. Use white yarn for the crew’s visor. Slip a slip knot on the crochet hook and make four chains. Skip the first chain. Stitch two single crochet and do two increases. Repeat at the back of the chains. Stitch two single crochets and do two increases (10).
Stitch three single crochets, increase, single crochet. Repeat for two times (12). With black yarn, single crochet across (12). Sew the visor on the crew’s face. Use the primary yarn color and chain three stitches for the crew’s backpack. Skip the first chain, single crochet, and increase twice. Repeat the single crochet, increasing twice at the back of the chains (8).
Single crochet, increase twice. Repeat four times (16). Back loop only, single across (16). Place the backpack at the back of the crew‘s back and sew it on with the darning needle.
