Take a 10″ print square and a 10″ background square. Place them right sides together. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner in both directions. Sew 1/4″ on both sides of the line. Once done, cut in half horizontally and vertically, then cut directly on the drawn lines. Press them open towards the dark side. Trim them into 4 1/2″ squares. You’ll get 8 HSTs for each one. Repeat for all the squares in your pack.
Make a pinwheel. Get 4 pieces of HSTs of the same fabrics and arrange them in a pinwheel. Sew them together to make the block. You need 4 pinwheel blocks.
Make the stars in the middle. Get 4 of the same HSTs for the middle, 8 of the same HSTs in a different fabric, and 4 pieces of background corner squares. Arrange them just like in the photo below then sew them together. You need 4 of this block.
For the chevron, you need 4 HSTs of the same fabric. Arrange them to form an arrow, then sew just like a four-patch.
For the flying geese, you need two HSTs with the colors together.
Arrange the blocks together, just like in the photo above.
