I have tried several brownie recipes before, and I can say that Adam Ragusea‘s version is one of the best brownies out there. The recipe is very simple, yet the flavors are amazing. It even has a glossy paper-like top! He used two key ingredients for this recipe: sweetened condensed milk and browned butter.
Who knew that adding sweetened condensed milk and browned butter could turn ordinary brownies into these mouthwatering treats? Our kitchen smelled heavenly when we baked them at home. I felt like I was at my favorite bakery shop. Waiting for it to cool completely is the hardest part of this recipe. Everyone couldn’t resist taking a small portion of the brownie while it cooled down!

To make these homemade brownies, you only need 9 ingredients – butter, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, vanilla, molasses, salt, egg, and all-purpose flour. One of the important steps to make perfect brownies is browning the butter. Browned butter has a richer and more intense flavor than just melted butter. It enhances the flavor of your brownies and gives them a nutty taste, so make sure yo do it right.

Preheat your oven to 325F. Line your pan with a parchment sling.
Melt the butter in a medium sized pot over medium heat. Stir the butter as it starts to brown. When it is starting to brown and smell like caramel, whisk in the cocoa powder. Let it boil for a minutes then remove the pot from heat.
Mix in the sweetened condensed milk, followed by the powdered sugar. Next, whisk in salt, vanilla, molasses, and egg yolk.
Add the flour and whisk well. If you are going to add chocolate chips, let the batter cool down before mixing them in.
Transfer the batter into the pan. Place inside the preheated oven then bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. If you want fudgy brownies, it should have a few moist crumbs. Once done, let it cool completely before slicing.
