I absolutely love eating baked custard, and this recipe by AliciaLynn is the best I have ever tried. It is rich, creamy, and smooth just how I want it to be. I can finish it easily in just a few minutes, as it’s incredibly delicious. This 7-ingredient old-fashioned baked custard recipe is a great way to use up left-over milk. If you have milk products at home that are nearing their expiration date, this is the perfect recipe to use them. This version requires only six ingredients – eggs, milk, sugar, salt,  vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Classic Baked Custard Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • nutmeg
  • cinnamon

 

How to Make Baked Custard

Step 1:

Start by whisking the eggs in a large bowl. Next, add the salt, vanilla, and sugar. Mix until well combined.

Step 2:

Add the milk in a heat-proof bowl and heat in the microwave. Once warm, slowly pour it into the egg mixture while continuously stirring.

Step 3:

Pour the mixture into an oven safe dish, then sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon on top.

Step 4:

Place the oven-safe dish on a deep baking dish and pour about an inch of hot water to create a water bath. Bake them for about 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted onto the center.
