Ingredients:

  • 7 oz Oreo cookies
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Custard:

  • 3 cups milk, full fat
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2/3 cups caster sugar
  • 6 – 7 large egg yolks
  • 5 tbsp cornflour (or cornstarch)
  • 7 oz 70% cocoa chocolate, finely chopped

Directions:

Step 1

Grease your cake mold with some butter and line it with parchment paper. Set it aside. Next, grind your Oreo cookies in a food processor until fine, then add 4 tbsp melted unsalted butter. Grind for a few seconds until fully combined. Trasfer the Oreo crumbs to the prepared cake mold and push it down using the back of a measuring cup. Set aside.

Step 2

Add 3 cups of milk, 2 tsp vanilla, and half of the sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Set aside. In a bowl, add seven large egg yolks and the rest of the sugar. Mix well, then add 5 tbsp cornflour. Continue mixing while adding the heated milk mixture gradually. Pour the milk-egg mixture back into the same pan and heat it over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Once you see the first bubbles appear, whisk constantly for another 45 seconds, then remove from heat. Add the finely chopped chocolate and mix until it is fully melted. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl, cover it immediately with cling wrap touching the surface, and let it cool down. After this, pour it into the prepared base.

Step 3

Place it in a 350 degrees oven and bake for one hour. After baking, let it cool for three hours, then put it in the fridge for 12 hours.
