Take apart your mason jar and get a pen to trace the outline of the socket on the mason jar lid.
Get your hammer and nails and punch holes around the circle that you drew on the lid ensuring that the
holes are in close proximity to one another.
Punch a big hole in the middle of the lid and using your pliers, rip away the metal up until you reach the
holes that you punched in Step 2. You should be left with an opening on the lid.
Optional: To blend the color of the lid and the socket, apply spray paint (metallic spray paint works
best). Let it dry completely before moving to the next step.
Punch more holes on the outermost part of the lid. This is so that the heat can escape when you have
your light on the mason jar.
Wedge the lid onto the base of the socket and put your light in. Assemble everything together to secure
the outer lid of the jar.
And you are ready to hang your mason jar light/lantern.
