I love any recipe that includes Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. This Flamin’ Hot Cheetos chicken sandwich tutorial on YouTube by Mythical Kitchen looks fiery crispy red and reminds me of Nashville Hot Chicken. However, it’s probably a different flavor, but similar concept with the ingredients inside. I like the idea that using Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is the new “breadcrumbs.” This recipe is something I really want to try out because I always have a bag of Hot Cheetos in my pantry, and I have no shame about that. Overall, I love seeing what unique recipes Mythical Kitchen comes out with next.
First, cover the chicken in plastic wrap then gently beat the crap out of it with an old hot sauce bottle (or meat mallet) until it is evenly thick all the way ‘round. Season the chicken with salt and let it sit uncovered in the fridge for at least an hour or up to 12 hours.
Then, heat oil over medium heat to 325 degrees in a large cast-iron pan (or use a deep fryer if you got one). You want the oil to be at least one-inch deep if using a pan. Remove the coated chicken thighs from the fridge and give it one last dredge in the Cheeto crumbs, just to be safe. Toast the buns and assemble with pickles, comeback sauce, and slaw.
In conclusion, I love watching Mythical Chef Josh. He’s a great chef and entertainer. I love the idea of having Hot Cheetos as the side. I can’t wait to try this recipe out.
