Ever heard of sock animals? We just learned how to make sock puppy dogs over Thanksgiving break, and I am going to have an entire family of these adorable puppy dogs come Christmas. So much fun to make, easy to do and they all turn out differently but super cute, this DIY sock puppy dog uses a sock and polyfill stuffing and the results are incredible!
My children and I get very bored over the holidays and things can easily go haywire at a moment’s notice, so to keep everyone on track, I keep boxes of projects that I can pull out and put in the middle of the table and seat them quietly all round to focus their attention on their own creative spirit. I keep a few boxes of sock projects on hand and one of my favorites is the DIY Sock Dachshund Dog. This is such a cute, fun project, everyone from old to young love it. Bright Children’s Socks will work best for this project, but any socks will work. In addition to that, you will need scissors, a marker, some dacron or cotton stuffing, a needle and thread, and some buttons. Then you just take your sock and turn it inside out and sew the top shut, then sew leg pockets and cut in between them, leaving a small opening to add your stuffing. Thur right side out and add your stuffing now. then close your opening.
Then you use the other remaining sock to cut out the puppy’s features, arms, ears, tail, and snout.
Then you just stuff and attach each feature to the body of your puppy dog, then you sew buttons on for his eyes.
This little DIY Sock Puppy Dog is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I cannot recommend this project enough.
