A few weeks ago, we had a couple of pears that were left in the kitchen and nobody has eaten or is planning to eat anytime soon. I didn’t want it to go to waste but I couldn’t eat everything all by myself either, so I thought it might be best to just use it in a recipe, that way everyone could get a serving.

I’ve seen cobblers in different fruit flavors before, but I didn’t know that you can do that with pears, too. So, when I found this recipe by Guilkey’s Limited Adventures on YouTube, I gave it a try immediately, everyone loved how delicious it tasted that the entire baking dish was empty within just a few minutes of serving.

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then place a stick of butter on a 9×13-inch baking dish, and put it in the oven to let it melt while preparing the rest of the ingredients.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, add the diced pear, cornstarch, sugar, water, and cinnamon, then toss them until evenly combined and coated, and set the mixture aside.
Step 3
In another bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, then stir them until uniform, pour in the milk, and whisk everything until smooth and incorporated.
Step 4
Get the baking dish with the melted butter, then pour the batter over it, and spoon the pear mixture on top.
Step 5
Place it in the preheated oven, let it bake for about 1 hour, and serve with ice cream on top if desired. Enjoy!
