Make the cake. Add the softened butter and sugar to a bowl. Whisk until combined. Add the eggs, milk, and pineapple syrup. Mix again.
In a different bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing after every addition.
Add 1 cup of drained pineapple to the batter. Mix until well incorporated using a spatula.
Butter your bread pan on the bottom and sides. Sprinkle a little bit of sugar, then transfer the cake batter. Spread evenly.
