Soda cans are mostly made of aluminum, which is the best material to recycle, so throwing them away will be a waste. If you love canned beverages, don’t throw them away after drinking. Collect and recycle them instead. There are different facilities or recycling centers where you can dispose of them, and they can be used to make new cans. Aside from that, there are tons of DIY projects you can make with soda cans.

Using a blade, make a slit on the top side part of the soda can then use sharp scissors to cut it all around.
Cut thin 6 vertical slits about 2/3 of the can. Make them as uniform as you can.
Fold the first slit on the left halfway through to the right. Do the same for the next two. For the last three, fold them in the opposite direction, so they will meet in the center.
Get the middle strips and fold them so they intersect. The right strip should be on top. Get the second strip from the left and place it on top of the right middle strip. Next, get the second strip from the right then insert between the two strips. Repeat the process for the outer strips. Fold the ends to secure them in place. Trim the strips if needed. You should form a petal. See the photo below for reference.
Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make 5 more petals.
