Ingredients for Cheesy Hamburger Helper:

  • 1 pound of ground beef, lean
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp of seasoned salt
  • ½ tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • (8oz) can of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup of milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp of tomato paste, optional
  • ½ tbsp of garlic powder
  • ½ tsp of onion powder
  • ½ tsp of Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups of Cavatappi pasta, or more as preferred
  • Salt, to taste
  • Triple cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Paprika
  • Parsley

Step 1

Place a skillet on a stove over medium heat, then add the ground beef, and break it apart. Add the diced onion, then give them a good mix, and cook them until the beef is nice and brown. Add the seasoned salt and black pepper, then mix them well, and drain off the excess grease.

Step 2

Add the tomato sauce and beef broth, stir them, and then add the minced garlic, heavy cream, tomato paste, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix everything until combined, then add the pasta, and keep stirring until evenly distributed.

Step 3

Cover the skillet, then let the mixture simmer over low heat for about 10 to 12 minutes, and adjust the seasoning to taste if needed. Sprinkle some of the cheeses, then mix them well, add more cheese on top followed by paprika and dried parsley, and broil it on high until browned. Serve and enjoy!
