Fabric Requirements:

  • fabric A – one charm pack (printed)
  • fabric B – one charm pack (solid)
  • backing – 1 1/3 yards
  • binding – 3/8 yard

Cutting:

  • binding – (4) 2 1/2″ x WOF strips

Directions:

Step 1

To start, pair the colored charm pack and the background (solid) charm pack. Next, draw a diagonal line on the back of the background square, then line it with the colored square. Sew a 1/4″ seam away on either side of the drawn line. After sewing, trim along the centered marked line, then press both the half-square triangles open and trim them to 4 1/2″. Repeat these steps to get a total of 80 half-square triangles.

Step 2

Once you have all the half-square triangles, it’s time to assemble them. You can assemble the blocks in two ways; either by rows or columns. Just make sure to pay attention to the placement so all the pairs are working together. Once you have the blocks assembled, sew those rows together to complete the quilt top.
