You don’t need to put a lot of energy into scrubbing the burnt pieces away with this method. I highly recommend this technique if your oven racks are heavily soiled. If you are someone like me who hates scrubbing, this technique is for you.

In a large tub, big enough to fit your oven rack, add 3 dishwasher tabs and pour boiling water to fully dissolve the tabs. Add the rack and fill the tub with water. Let it soak for 3 hours.
Wear gloves, then scrub it well with a non-scratching sponge.
Add 1 cup of dish soap to a large tub and fill it with water. Soak the rack overnight.
