To make this chocolate sorbet recipe, you only need 7 ingredients – water, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, semi-sweet chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and coffee. Unlike ice cream, sorbet does not contain any dairy ingredients. If you can’t fully digest lactose, this is the perfect dessert for you. It’s so good that you’ll finish it right away. Note: if you don’t want to add the coffee, just add a little water
In a medium saucepan, add 1 1/2 cups of water, 3/4 cups of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until well combined.
Place over medium-high heat and keep whisking until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until melted.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 cup of coffee, and 1 cup of water. Stir until well combined. Let it cool for a few minutes, then transfer to a bowl. Cover and place in the refrigerator for several hours to chill.
Pour your chilled mixture into your ice cream make and use it according to the manufacturer’s directions. Place in an air-tight container and allow it to freeze up.
