Crumb quilting is my favorite way to quilt, especially when I was still new to this hobby, it’s a very fun and easy technique that anyone can do, and it’s also the best way to introduce yourself to quilting.

So, if you want to give this a go, then watch this video tutorial by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube to learn the steps, and give it a try this weekend. I’m sure that you’ll enjoy this quilting technique as much as I did!
Step 1
Get a good combination of strips, trimmed pieces, and smaller pieces of fabric, then lay out the longest strip you have horizontally on your work surface, and place a row of assorted square or vertical rectangles on top of the strip.
Step 2
One by one, bring the fabric down and over the strip so their right sides are facing, then pin them in place, and stitch them together making sure to remove the pins as you go. Keep adding more pieces until you reach the end of the strip, then cut them apart using a ruler for more precision, and press them open.
Step 3
Make a different set of crumb strips using different colors, then sub-cut them into strips with straight edges, and press them open. Combine the two sets of strips using the same piecing method, then match the pieces of similar width, and keep adding pieces until you get the desired size.
