You don’t even need to use an oven, as you can make it with your air fryer. Plus, it does not require any oil! It’s sweet and rich and a little bit tart. Making these homemade chips only requires 4 ingredients –sugar, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and red apples. They only take a few minutes to prepare and they are ready to go in the air fryer. If you don’t want them to be too sweet and healthier, you can lessen the amount of sugar. We love these homemade apple chips and have already made them several times for snacks. In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
Thoroughly wash the red apples, then cut the bottom flat. Thinly slice each of them using a mandoline.
Cover the basket with foil to catch any drippings, then place a rack on top. Spray it with cooking spray.
Coat all of the apple slices with the cinnamon sugar mixture on both sides, then place them on the rack. Make sure not to overlap the slices. Work in batches.
Air fry at 250F for about an hour. Once done, remove the slices and let them cool. Serve and enjoy!
