To make these bourbon balls at home, you only need 6 ingredients– walnuts, wafer cookies, confectioner sugar, cocoa powder, corn syrup, and bourbon. The toppings are optional, but they surely make them even better. You can roll them in powdered sugar or cocoa powder, or you can dip them in melted chocolate and garnish with finely chopped nuts or white chocolate on top.

Start by toasting the nuts. Preheat your oven to 350F. Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and bake for about 6 to 8 minutes, or until they turn lightly brown. Once done, let them cool completely.
Add the toasted pecans and vanilla wafer cookies in a food processor and crush into fine crumbs. If you don’t have one, you can finely chop them.
To the crumbs in the food processor, add the confectioners sugar and cocoa powder. Process until combined. Next, mix in the corn syrup and bourbon. Chill the batter.
Shape the batter into 1 inch balls.
You can roll the bourbon balls either in powdered sugar, finely chopped nuts, or cocoa powder.
If you are going to dip it in chocolate, put 3 ounces of chopped dark chocolate and 1 teaspoon of butter in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave. Once its nice and melted, dip the balls one at a time, then remove with two spoons of dipping fork. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill until set. Once the chocolate has hardened, drizzle 1 ounce of melted white chocolate.
