Did you know that baking soda is one of the most effective stain removers when mixed with water? The reason for this is that baking soda is extremely absorbent, trapping pigment and odor out of the fabric. Mix baking soda and laundry detergent in a container until well combined. Use it to wash your white clothes.
Another great ingredient to remove stains is vinegar. It works because of its acidity. But don’t worry! The acetic acid found in vinegar is just mild, so it won’t ruin your clothes. Fill a small bucket with water and add some vinegar. Soak your clothes and scrub it. Let it sit overnight, and scrub again. Wash it how you normally would.
One of the other natural alternatives is lemon. The citric acid it contains helps to break down stains and whiten your clothes. Fill a pot with water and add lemon slices. Place it over heat and let it come to a boil. Transfer the water to a bucket, remove the lemon slices, and soak your clothes. Let it sit for about an hour. Wash it as usual.
