As much as I love classic dishes, I can’t help but like their shortcut versions nowadays because of my schedule. One of my favorite shortcut recipes is this ground beef stroganoff noodles from Food Wishes on Youtube. It’s the shortcut version of the classic stroganoff, and it’s all cooked in one pan; super quick and easy. What’s more, it tastes so good! Check out the recipe in the video below.
In a pan over medium-high heat, melt some butter in some oil, then add 1 cup of thinly sliced mushrooms and 1 tsp salt. Stir and cook until the mushrooms turn golden brown. Once the mushrooms turned brown, go ahead and add 1/2 cup diced onion and 1 lb ground beef. Break the ground beef apart and cook until it is browned for about five minutes. Season with ground black pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Next, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 1/3 tbsp flour. Mix well and cook for about a minute, then add 2 tbsp of vodka (optional), 2 1/2 cups of beef broth, and 1 cup water. Stir all together while scraping the bottom of the pan, then let it come to a simmer.

Once the mixture simmers, leave it for ten minutes, mixing it and reducing the heat a little bit. After ten minutes, lower the heat to medium and add the egg noodles. Once the egg noodles are stirred in, cover the pan, and let everything cook for five minutes. Once five minutes are up, remove the cover and stir everything together, then cover it again and cook for another three minutes. Reduce the heat to low once the egg noodles are cooked, then lastly, add 1/2 cup sour cream and stir it in. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with sliced chives.
