One of the most comforting dishes that I always cook at home is pasta. I love experimenting with different sauces. One night, I was craving to make some for dinner but I didn’t have many ingredients in my pantry. So I searched on the internet and saw this 5-ingredient pasta recipe or also known as spaghetti Aglio e olio by Donal Skehan on Youtube. Luckily, I have all that is needed. It turned out so good! I didn’t expect that this simple recipe can have a depth of flavor. It also has a kick of spiciness from the chili flakes making this pasta even more fantastic. Want to try this at home? Watch the video below for the full instructions.

Boil some water in a pot and some salt. Cook the pasta for 9-11 minutes until al-dente. Once cooked, take some pasta water and strain it. While the pasta is cooking, you can start with the sauce)
Thinly slice the garlic cloves. Place a pan over low heat and pour 5 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Add in the garlic immediately after you put in the olive oil to not burn the garlic. While it’s simmering, chop the flat-leaf parsley into fine pieces. Add a teaspoon of dried chili flakes into the pan. Once the garlic becomes slightly brown remove it from heat.
Pour the oil straight into the pasta and add the chopped parsley and parmesan cheese. Toss all of the ingredients together. If it’s a bit dry, you can add some pasta water. Add more parmesan cheese if needed. Serve while hot. Enjoy!
