Step 1
Place a large skillet on a stove over medium heat, then add some oil, and let it heat up. Once the oil is hot enough, add the ground Italian sausage to the pan, break it up, and let it brown. Once browned, flip the sausage over, then let it brown before breaking them completely. Toss it around until cooked through, then add in the Worcestershire sauce, give it a good stir, and continue cooking over medium heat. Remove the excess grease off the sausage and leave only about 3 tablespoons of fat, then add in the diced veggies and onions, and stir them all together.

Step 2
Add squeezed or finely minced garlic, then increase the heat setting before seasoning it with salt and pepper. Let them cook until the veggies have softened and turned translucent. Add the rice followed by the chicken stock, and give them a good stir, then bring it to a simmer. Add the creole or cajun and bay leaves, then cover the pan, and let the rice cook for about 25 minutes or until the rice is soft. Then, scrape the bottom and mix it around, turn off the heat and continue stirring. Stir in the chopped parsley or cilantro, then serve!
