I guess everyone loves fresh and warm cinnamon rolls. Smokin’ & Grillin’ wit AB shares with us this mouth-watering cinnamon roll recipe that takes a little more effort but is absolutely worth it.
Ingredients:
For the Dough
For the Filling
For the Cream Cheese Icing
Directions:
Prepare all the needed ingredients as stated in the list above.
Activate the dry yeast in the lukewarm milk.
In the mixer bowl, combine the granulated sugar, softened unsalted butter, salt, and eggs. Check the yeast. The yeast will be ready when there is froth after 5 minutes. If none, try again. Back to the mixer, gradually mix in the 4 cups of all-purpose flour. Mix until it forms a dough. Lightly spray some baking spray on a bowl and transfer the dough there. Cover and allow the dough to double in size.
Preheat the oven to 200F and pop in the bowl to help the dough rise.
Once the dough has risen, prepare the filling by combining brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened unsalted butter. Sprinkle some flour on the counter surface and knead the dough. Roll out the dough and brush with a layer of butter using a rubber spatula.
Sprinkle an even layer of the filling mixture on top of the dough. Roll the dough, starting from the long side. Then, cut out the buns using dental floss, string, or a knife.
Spray baking spray on your cast iron skillet and place the cinnamon buns in it. Place the buns in the oven to bake for 20 minutes at 350F.
At 10 minutes into the baking time, prepare the cream cheese icing by combining softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, room temperature cream cheese, vanilla extract, and salt. Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven and still hot, brush on the cream cheese icing.
Serve and enjoy!
