Cocktail parties are popular on New Year’s Eve. Drinks are required and canapés should be aplenty. A canapé usually consists of a tiny slice of bread (often toasted), puff pastry, or a cracker that is wrapped or topped with some sort of savory dish and eaten with the fingers, usually in a single mouthful. Guests are more likely to drink more cocktails if the canapés are salty or spicy, which is why they are so popular during cocktail hours. If you want to make sure you’re making the right ones, learn how to make six different canapés from Cozinha da Lulu on Youtube. The procedures are quick and easy as well.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Cut the bread into circles using a 4cm cutter. Put the circles on a tray. The leftover bread will be made into breadcrumbs. Then put some oil in a small bowl. Brush some oil on the bread circles. Make sure you put enough and not too much, so the bread will get soaked. Toast the bread circles in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes, or until they are slightly browned.
Then it’s time to make the puff pastry. Open up the pre-made dough and flatten it. Take out the square cutter measuring 4×4 cm. Use square molds as well. Cut the dough using the square cutter. Place the square dough into the molds, forming flowerlike puff pastries. Get the egg yolk and brush the egg yolk on the ends of the dough. This is optional and is only done to give the pastry a golden color. Then bake the pastry in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes.
Take out the bread circles from the oven. Then the puff pastries should follow.
Then, it’s time to put some filling in the bread and the pastries. You choose how you want to fill them. One example would be to put some cream cheese on the bread, then add folded salami and mini square-cut cucumbers. The secret is that the fillings and toppings will give your canapés the right variety.
Enjoy!
