What we usually do when we wake up in the morning is get ourselves a nice cup of coffee. But, if you’ve got one of those fall or winter colds this holiday season, you can exchange your daily coffee for a cup of hot cranberry cider. Paula Deen’s recipe for this drink will only take 5 minutes of your time. Not only will this hot drink help cure your ails, but the whole process of making it will also make your house smell spectacular. All you need to do is follow a few simple steps.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Making cranberry cider is similar to how you would make your early morning coffee. Put some cloves, a couple of cinnamon sticks, and some brown sugar in your coffee maker filter or basket. Then, at its water reservoir, pour in your apple cider and cranberry juice. If you want to spice things up, you have the option of adding in alcoholic drinks such as a bit of bourbon, rum, or brandy.
Turn your coffee maker on and wait for about 5 minutes for the hot water to go through the dry ingredients.
Once it has finished brewing, pour a cup for yourself and your family. The serving size for this drink is for 5 people, which is enough for the whole family to have one. And if desired, you can serve it with cinnamon stick stirrers.
This drink tastes delicious, making it an excellent match for the foods of this holiday season. Do note that your coffee maker will have the smell of cloves and cinnamon sticks afterward. So, it’s best to use a cheap coffee maker to make this recipe.
