In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of frozen cherries, 6 tbsp cornstarch, 5 oz sugar, and 5 0z water. Mix well, then place it on the stovetop and cook until thickened. Set it aside. Next, to another bowl, add 3 egg yolks, a pinch of salt, and 6 tbsp powdered sugar. Mix well, then add one stick of melted butter. Continue mixing until smooth. Next, add 1 tsp vanilla, 1.6 cups of sifted flour, and 1 tsp baking powder. Mix and fold until you form a dough. Once dough forms, slice a small piece, wrap it with plastic, and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes. Now, line a round baking pan, then place the dough, stretching it to the bottom as well as to the sides of the pan. After this, pour the cherry filling and spread it evenly. Set it aside.

In another bowl, add 1 3/4 cups of Greek yogurt, 1 tsp vanilla, and 4 tbsp cornstarch. Whisk to combine. Set it aside. Next, whisk the three egg whites with a pinch of salt, then add 4.5 oz sugar gradually while whisking. Continue whisking until hard peaks form, then fold in the yogurt mixture. Add this over the top of the cherries, spreading it nicely and evenly. To finish, grate the frozen dough on top. Bake it in a preheated 350 degrees F oven for 40 minutes or until the cake top rises evenly.
