#1: Eggs

Microwaves cook at high temperatures and cooking eggs in there would create an abundance of steam within its shell which will likely cause an egg explosion.

#2: Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil is made of metal which is capable of sparking the metal present inside your microwave and eventually setting it on fire. So make sure to never wrap your food with it when microwaving.

#3: Plastic Storage Containers

When plastic is heated it releases bisphenol or BPA, an organic element used to make plastic clear which is not something you’d want in your food.

#4: Paper Bags

Typical paper bags used in grocery stores can release toxins and fumes when they’re heated, as microwaves produce rapid heat such paper bags could easily catch fire.

#5: Cookware with Metal Trim

Do not use anything made out of metal in the microwave, especially the cookware that has a gold or silver-colored trim on the edges to avoid a spark or worst, an explosion.

#6: Travel Mugs

Travel mugs are generally made out of stainless steel and they shouldn’t end up in your microwave because the metal in it would cause an unwanted reaction.
