Cut the dark chocolate into small pieces and place them in a bowl. There are two ways to melt your chocolate. You can use the microwave method or the stovetop method.
For the microwave method, make sure you put the chocolates into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir. If not completely melted, continue to microwave in 30 seconds increments. Stir frequently until melted.
The stovetop method is also known as the double boiler method. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can use a metal bowl over a pan. Fill it with just enough water so that the bowl doesn’t touch it. Stir the chocolate gently until completely melted. Make sure to use a heat-safe spatula when scraping the sides.
In a different bowl, add 1/2 cup of whipping cream. Beat it with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
Add the melted chocolate to the whipped cream. Mix it well with the hand mixer until it turns light brown, smooth, and fluffy.
Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and squeeze it in a circular motion into your glass.
Dust your chocolate mousse with cocoa powder. This step is optional.
You can serve it as is but it tastes better when cold. Refrigerate it for about 2 to 3 hours before serving. Enjoy!
