Are you looking for a creative way to repurpose old clothes? Why not turn them into a doormat? I absolutely love this pattern. It may look familiar to some quilters, as it is the same as the Cathedral Window Quilt. Even if you are new to sewing, you can easily make this project by Sonali Gupta Creations at home.

Did you know that thrown-out clothes mostly end up in landfills? Rather than tossing them in the trash can consider repurposing them! This project will breathe new life into your old clothes and give you a lovely doormat for your home. Don’t let its look intimidate you – trust me, it’s simpler than it appears. Watch the step-by-step instructions in the video below to get started.
Start by cutting old clothes into 7-inch squares.
Take two squares and place them right sides together. Place the circle template on top and trace it with a fabric marker. Cut the circles. Sew all the way around with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Cut slits around the edges. Make sure not to cut over the seams. Cut a cross in the center and flip it right side out.
Repeat the same process with the remaining squares.
Get one circle and fold it in half twice to find the center on each side. Connect the middle of each side to make a square. See the photo below for reference. Repeat with the other circles.
Take four circles and place them in a row. Make sure all the squares are aligned. Sew the first two circles together using the lines as a guide. Continue adding the remaining two.
Make 3 more rows with four circles each.
Sew the rows together using the bottom and top lines as a guide. See the photo below for reference.
Press the seams open, creating a flower pattern. Top stitch each leaf.
